Hi! I'm Megan!
I'm a photographer, tattoo artist, and generally someone who likes making things.
My background is a bit of a mixed bag, but art has always been the constant. I am compulsively creative and gravitate toward things that are beautiful without trying too hard.
Generally, I think the best work comes from responding to the environment rather than following a formula. I love thoughtful details, interesting people, and moments that feel specific and unrepeatable. Thoughtful without being overly precious.
Whether I'm photographing or designing a tattoo, my approach is pretty similar. I like getting to know people, understanding what matters to them, and making something they'll still love years down the road. I take the work seriously, but I don't think the process needs to feel particularly serious. Ideally, we have a pretty good time along the way.
Outside of art, I have a love of things that grow, am incapable of taking myself seriously, love to laugh, and have full time career that makes absolutely no sense with art. (Although, if you’d like to subscribe to my soap-box-Ted-Talk I will explain how I reconcile the opposition.) But! I think it’s all come together to make me a more curious person and a better observer of people. Both of which come in handy around here.
I live and work in Eugene, Oregon, and Atelier Citrus is my little corner of the creative world.
