a note from Megan

Writing a “get-to-know-me” section has always felt... uncomfortable.

I feel pressure to “make sense” to a client and fit into whatever mold I’m supposed to be touting — a dreamy, bubbly wedding photographer, an edgy tattoo artist, a thoughtful painter, etc. But those archetypes have always felt too singular to me.

The truth is, I'm a little bit of all of that and then some. In younger years, I was afraid to show up as my entire self, assuming that it would be "too much." (Ladies, you're familiar with this feedback.)

However, through (too many) trials and errors, I’m learning to trust that showing up just as I am might not be as difficult to understand as I once thought. Because maybe, just maybe, you can see that complexity in yourself too.

So, in all my contradictions, here's who you’re actually hiring:
I’m sensitive, tough, and creative to the point of compulsion. I can be the life of the party but hate the spotlight. I tear up at nearly every first look on wedding day but I’ll also roll my eyes at cheesy comments. I’m warm, competitive, receptive, stubborn, and tender.

What this means for your experience and my pov:
Working with me is about capturing real life, fully and beautifully. You’ll get the romantic sunset photos, yes — but you’ll also get the side-eye, the belly laughs, and the quiet moments that are just as important.

Ultimately, I’m a real person making art for real people. I believe we are dynamic, interesting creatures capable of being more than one thing at one time. I love working with people who can see the same thing.

If this resonates, reach out — I’d love to hear from you.

aimless love

poem:

"This is the best kind of love, I thought...
No lust, no slam of the door -
the love of the miniature orange tree,
the clean white shirt, the hot evening shower,
the highway that cuts across Florida."
